My Story

Hi, I’m Clare Monnin, owner and steward of Dungeness Barn House B&B at Two Crows Farm.
I often say that this place found me.

Over thirty years ago, I fell in love with this old barn by the sea — long before it was a bed and breakfast, long before it was even for sale. The beauty of the land, the stillness of the bay, and the rhythm of the tides spoke to something deep within me. Years later, life brought me back here, and I knew it was time to listen.

Since moving in, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this space — restoring the home, reviving the gardens, and shaping it into the warm, creative haven I had always imagined. With the help and ongoing support of my family and friends, I built the gourmet kitchen of my dreams, tended the land, and brought new life to every corner of the Barn House.

Through many challenges — both personal and practical — and with the unwavering love and encouragement of those around me, the Barn House continues to thrive and grow, just as we do. By staying committed to the natural rhythm and flow of this place, we’ve created not only a home, but a living, breathing sanctuary.

Day to day, life here moves with the pulse of the tides. Mornings begin with coffee in the greenhouse, roosters greeting the dawn, and the scent of lavender drifting through the air. Guests awaken to the aroma of fresh pastries and homemade granola, then wander the gardens or watch the light shift over Dungeness Bay. Afternoons bring time for tending, mending, dreaming — or simply pausing to listen to the wind and waves.

What began as a dream has become a place of gathering — a space for retreats, workshops, and creative connection. The Insiders Club, launching in October 2024, will welcome artists, dreamers, and practitioners to share their gifts through dinner parties, book clubs, meditation retreats, and community events.

As we look ahead to 2026, the Dungeness Barn House B&B at Two Crows Farm will proudly celebrate its 100th birthday — a century of seaside beauty, resilience, and the countless stories that have unfolded within its walls.
