Traveling Red Chair

The Red Chair Travels is the story of one humble Red Chair as it journeys all across America hosted by the friendly innkeepers of our nation’s B&B’s.  It visited us at the Dungeness Barn House B&B in October 2015.  You may have seen our blog for Halloween featuring the Red Chair.

We are excited to share some of the photographs taken to commemorate the Red Chair’s visit.  An extra bonus will be that you’ll get to see several of our favorite places near the B&B.  A huge thank you to photographer Michael Monnin for his amazing and experienced eye.

When The Red Chair arrived in Sequim the first stop was to visit the welcome sign and Olympic Peninsula’s mascot.  The Welcome sign was hand-made by a then local artist and honors the local elk herds from this area.

Then it was off to get checked in at the Dungeness Barn House Bed and Breakfast

Now it is off to have some fun!

Red Chair visited one of the many locally designed and carved Jamestown totem poles.  You’ll see many different totem poles  a few miles east of Sequim near Sequim Bay and the Casino.  You can even ask about a tour of the carving shed (skip to near the end of this link to House of Myths carving shed).

The Red Chair just couldn’t resist a visit to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim.  And the always curious raccoon was just as interested in the  Red Chair as the chair was about the masked bandit. Walt Disney Studios had links to the game farm for decades; can you say Grizzle Adams?  It’s a great adventure if you have kids and even if you don’t.

Cattle next door to the B&B like a visitor that stay still; it's a match made in heaven.

And even more animals are curious about the Red Chair and it’s visit to the B&B.  These gentle souls  and their pasture are such a nice color contrast to the Red Chair.  And such great next door neighbors to the B&B.

Before sunset the Red Chair heads down to Cline Spit, just a short walk from the B&B.  To watch one of the local fishermen catching Spelt.IMG_7260_2_3_4_tonemapped

After a long day the Red Chair enjoys relaxing in the hot tub with one of the owners at the Dungeness Barn House B&B at Two Crows Farm.IMG_7260_2_3_4_tonemapped IMG_7260_2_3_4_tonemapped

Sunset shared with the Red Chair.

Sunset shared with the Red Chair.

There is nothing quite like a sunset on Dungeness Bay with the Dungeness Spit between you and the colorful show to the west.  The Red Chair has never had such a wonderful sunset while wading in a bay that catches and reflects the brilliant and deep colors of evening. Good Night!
